Irish Trails provides a list of walking trails in Ireland, including the Girley Bog in Kells, which is on a raised bog and includes some rare European flora and fauna.
Kells, which is around 40 minutes from Duffys of Ballybin, is the original home of the Book of Kells, which is on display in Trinity College in Dublin. The monks who wrote the book came from the monastary in Lindisfarne, after the famous island monastary was sacked by the Vikings.
